Caroline Kinney is an actor, singer, dancer and creative artist based in the Washington D.C. area. She grew up in Leesburg, VA, where she tapped into the vibrant and thriving theatre community from a young age. As her love of theatre and performing grew, she continued to hone her skills in numerous productions; followed by college and private lessons. 

 

Caroline is a recent graduate of the National Conservatory of Dramatic Arts (NCDA) based in Washington D.C. where she holds a Certificate of Acting. While a student at NCDA—she studied Realism, Scene Study, Voice & Movement, Ancient Greek Theatre, Shakespeare, Commedia Dell’Arte, Acting on Camera, Improvisation, & Technical Theatre. During her tenure, Caroline continued her journey to develop into a well-rounded artist and was inspired to create art that can change the world.

In her desire to learn all aspects of the business, Caroline is currently employed as a Patron Services Associate at Imagination Stage located in Bethesda, Maryland. Specializing in theatre for young audiences, her work at Imagination Stage has given her the opportunity to House Manage and work closely with patrons (both young & old) to ensure they have a fulfilling theatrical experience. In the future, Caroline hopes to continue working with Imagination Stage in new and challenging ways. 

 

Caroline is a soprano with a strong belt and has an affinity for contemporary music. She has studied voice privately for over ten years and has given numerous virtual recitals during the pandemic. She also relishes a solid acting role whether musical or dramatic and embraces variety & the challenges that presents. Frequently an ingenue, she is kind and loving yet very passionate and driven. Honest and often outspoken, she might just be part Taylor Swift and part Emma Roberts.

 

Caroline has big dreams and is pursuing a professional theatrical career that will also include film and television. Additionally, she has ambitions of writing, directing & producing new creative works. She loves to travel, spend time with family and is a fierce tap dancer (on demand)!

THE SATURDAY MORNING GARDEN CLUB

April 30th, May 5th, 6th, & 7th 2023
May 20th & 21st, 2023

In May 2023, Caroline played the role of Darby Pierpoint in Shoestring Theatre Company's premiere original production of "The Saturday Morning Garden Club." Written & directed by Amelia Townsend, this heartwarming and nostalgic play was well-received by audiences at Fairfax's Spotlight on the Arts in Fairfax, VA and Arts Herndon in Herndon, VA. It was featured in an article written by the Fairfax Connection. 

WAKE UP, BROTHER BEAR
March - April 2023

In March & April 2023, Caroline was a House Manager for various performances of 'Wake Up, Brother Bear'--a theatre for the very young selection as part of her employment as a Patron Services Associate at Imagination Stage. 'Wake Up, Brother Bear' received a rave review from DC Theater Arts and was well received by sold-out audiences.

HULA HOOPIN' QUEEN
February - April 2023

From February-April 2023, Caroline was a House Manager for various performances of 'Hula Hoopin' Queen'--a theatre for young audiences production as part of her employment as a Patron Services Associate at Imagination Stage. 'Hula Hoopin' Queen' had a very successful run--earning rave reviews from DC Theater Arts and Maryland Theatre Guide.  

AQUARIUM

January - February 2023

In January & February 2023, Caroline house managed various performances of 'Aquarium'--a theatre for the very young selection as part of her employment as a Patron Services Associate at Imagination Stage. 'Aquarium' earned a rave review from DC Theater Arts and was well received by audience members, selling out multiple shows.

As part of her employment as a Patron Services Associate at Imagination Stage--Caroline filled the role of House Manager for performances of the production 'Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed: The Rock Experience'--a theatre for young audiences selection. 'Naked Mole Rat' ran a successful month and a half run with rave reviews from DC Theater Arts, BroadwayWorld & Maryland Theatre Guide. 

In July 2022, Caroline performed the role of Aunt March in 'Little Women: The Musical' as part of the 45th annual company of Montgomery College Summer Dinner Theatre in Rockville, Maryland. Receiving rave reviews from DC Theater Arts and Theatre Bloom. Her performance earned her a BroadwayWorld DC Award nomination for 'Best Supporting Performer in a Musical (Non-Professional).'
